high PR does not mean u have the high creditability.. for me, web stats software and google analytics will tell you best trends and good traffic methods to decide which is good.. however, for other people higher PR and better alexa ranking will help, but it will not actually help your business or site.. it will just look good to those who care...
basically, i would say high PR is more preferable, because PR ranking is based on millions of variables and also useful backlinks, which are basically good and convertible traffic to your website.. whereas alexa ranking is just ranking by those who use alexa toolbar.. and it could actually be risen up intentionally..
