Best CMS for a Website and Blog

Hello everyone,

I currently run 2 CMS's and want to find a way to fuse the functionality into a single CMS that will support both my regular company website and a blog.  Does any one have any thoughts on this?   Am I correct in my thinking?  I'm tired of having effectively 2 different sites, separate designs, separate technologies, imperfect sitemaps, different plugins/addons for optimization, different URL/Permalink structures,etc.  It is a huge headache and I want something better...

The reason for this is that I want to improve:

Single layout/design site & blog wide

Single consistent navigation across both website and blog

Ability to have cross list content from blog and website

Single set of SEO

Single site wide URL structure or permalink structure

Single sitemap

Lessen my vulnerability exposure (1 CMS vs. 2)

Etc. etc..

So what are your thoughts?  What CMS should I standardize on and why is it best for both my website AND my blog in terms of all around content management and SEO/SEM?  Currently under evaluation I am looking at Drupal, Wordpress and Joomla...  Any thoughts?

If this "double" situation, arises just for one or two days, no harm will really happen.

 

If it is going to last more, than you have to look more carefully at the situation:

1 - Is Google aware of the new server? if no then fine

 

2 - If yes, than you might have some trouble. Do you need Google to be aware of this site? why is Google knowing it?

I presume that currently you new site is accessed by something like www.newhost.com/mydomain/

3 - I presume that both on old and new site your links are something like www.mydomain.com, which currently points to the old site and will later point to the new one. This is OK.

4 - when you will switch, you will in fact in the DNS administration change the IP address that responds to www.mydomain.com frrom the old host to the new host.

There will be a blurred period of 48-72h where DNS all over the world will be in a changing state:

- some will point to the new IP, and for them the new site will be accessed directly thru www.mydomain.com

- the others will point to the old IP, and for them the right address to access the site content would be www.newhost.com/mydomain/... so you will need to place on your old server an htaccess redirection with code 302: this would say "this request for www.mydomain.com should temporarily be redirected to www.newhost.com/mydomain/"

- after some days (I would wait one week), all the dns will be updated and nobody will go to the old site: you can now delete it

IMPORTANT: it MUST be a redirect 302, and not a 301 which would say to spiders "take note of the new address" and would thus lose some referencement. The 302 says "go there but do not record the change, as it is just temporrary"

We are in the process of moving to a new web hosting server.  In the
meantime, we have uploaded our files and are making some adjustments
etc.  We have not gone live yet on the new server.  We still have our
site live on the other server.  However, we ran a report for external
links and have found that the new server is showing up as having
external links back to our current server (with what would normally be
looked at as internal links).  I hope this makes sense.  Anyway, I'm
wondering if that will harm our rankings in google in regards to these
"external" links and also in regards to Google possibly looking at
this new server as containing duplicate content to our current server?

I am new in Google SEO, but i want to give my little advice (i hope
its useful either it not the only solution).
I suggest do not use the meta keyword with the word repeated more than
2x (sell gold jewelery, Sell scrap gold, sell
gold, cash for gold ...). Google will think this is spamming, google
crawler will pass them and will not indexing them

your site need some fresh content, add a page of article, press room section and update it time to time. and improve your number of internal links with relevance content.

In link Building do article submission with anchor text which is Need to  increase SERP.

Don't do SEO
Do          SPO - Search Person Optimization

Race it would be happen if ur off page optimization are not work properly, try to get quality of link which will increase ur ranking on SERP, your website looking new so try to work on low competition keywords rather then highly competitive keywords....

try to create pages of your targeted keywords and stuff the targeted keywords in the content which u want to optimize....

Web-scale datasets

Hi,

I'm launching a startup that I think a lot of you will be interested
in. The company, Webscaled, is a marketplace for datasets from ongoing
Web crawls. Soon, I'll offer access to a diverse catalog of fresh,
regularly updated datasets.

An example dataset would be the link graph. I am selling the link
graph in chunks of 1 billion edges. The dataset includes the source
and destination URLs, the anchor and title text of the link, any rel
or rev values, and so on.

Other datasets include:
-Lists of sites of X genre (forums, blogs, ecommerce, etc.)
-The top 1,000 [HTML editors, CMSs, forum and blog software, etc.]
-Lists of sites using X technology (AdSense, Feedburner chiclet, etc.)
-How many sites are using which advertising platform, widget, etc.
-Frequency of specific Doctypes and other HTML elements
-Analysis of affiliate program usage
-Social graph data
-Bi- and Tri-gram datasets, word frequency, and other NLP-related
datasets extracted from sentences that appear in the content portions
of Web documents.
-Frequency of namespace/uri correlation in XML and RDF/XML documents
-The top 1000 external Javascript includes, including the frameworks
-Percentage of sites using Ajax vs not
