I am in Google search placement hell!!

I have read several posts that pertain to this unfortunate situation,
yet none of them have really touched on my particular problem. So I am
going to cyber-beg for any help that you guys may be able to provide.

I have a site motorcycleobsession.com, this site has been online and
registered for at least 4 years. The content in the beginning was
crappy at best (it pertains to sportbikes, and it took me a while to
figure out exactly what I wanted to do with it). Anyway, over the past
6 months (or so) I really began to put some effort into it, I re-
designed it, sis my research, slowly began gaining traffic and
continued to do so at an average, acceptable rate (in my opinion).
It's a very "niche" site (is that the correct term?) so when I was
seeing a steady flow of about 150 people per day, I was happy with
that. My traffic was very targeted, so I was enjoying a decent
affiliate income.

On July 6th, my Google search engine placement disappeared.... I had
first page placement for my target keywords, and I had been booted to
10th page results.... and beyond. I asked around, and got the "Google
shuffling" response.... don't worry it will return to normal. It did,
5 days later... and I enjoyed my regular traffic (even a little extra)
and comfy placement for 3 whole days.... when I got the Google boot
again. This time it only lasted 3 days, and I was back to my regular
traffic and comfy placement again.... for 5 glorious days, I thought I
had made it through the "shuffle" and things would begin to even out
again.

Well, I am now into my 11th consecutive day of Google hell..... voted
off the island AGAIN. My search engine placement has not recovered
this time and I am starting to doubt it ever will. I haven't changed
domain names, or servers, or done any outrageous SEO stunts. In fact,
I really haven't done anything but update prices and add some more
information. I haven't messed with meta tags, robots text, page titles/
descriptions... nothing that would have caused Google to shun me.

Does anybody have any idea what might have happened? Has anyone
experienced anything similar in regards tot he bouncing back and forth
and then off the radar completely?

Oh, and as far as the webmaster tools, I have checked them... no
issues with my sitemap, no alerts or errors at all... in fact, Google
is still reporting to me that I am still on the first page of the
search results for the keywords that I was getting my traffic from...
but I am not really there. Have I been sucked into a worm hole?

Thanks for reading this rather wordy plea for help (okay, really
