Just cannot fathom what is happening with Google results

I have a website http://www.peachhomeloans.com.au which has been around since 2000 and like many sites it took hits from Panda and Penguin but I have done all I can to fix this including disavowing about 20 domains. The site contains around 500 pages of unique, quality content ( I wrote most of it) and has good backlinks.

The business is a home loan mortgage broker in Australia - so for keyword "australian mortgage broker" we are in 6th place - "mortgage broker australia" 13th place. This suggests things are working fine and that there are no SEO penalties being applied to site ... agree? Certainly no alarms in Webmaster tools etc.

How come for the past 12 months for any string including "home loan" I struggle to get in the first 50. Today I checked "home loan australia" and we are 59th ...AND YET have a look at http://www.myhomeloan.com.au/ ... this site is 15th - the home page includes a full page duplication of an article from http://www.news.com.au/ and not much else. It looks cheap and its content is paper thin. How can this be? Years of work and thousands of dollars and we get whacked by cheap rubbish.

Where am I going wrong - I am desperate for ideas.

HELP ME PLASE!! NEW SITE 3MOUNTH

HELLO EVERYBODY,

i have a new website it has 3 mounth and i have alredy done the on-pageseo.. The 3 weeks ago the website show and disappear, show and disappear, and now there isn't..

Google webmaster tool said to me that there is 2 meta tag same and 2 meta description same and also 18 link not found.. I don't know if this is a big errors but the site there isn't..Perhaps is not to much time 3 mouth i don't know help me please bye bye

less is more. ever heard that?

universities and sites that are reputable. spreading different fresh news to sites.... responding to peoples blogs and they see who you are and putting things on your site for people to use... tools... i dunno but give and help people and they will come.

just get as many good links as you can.... gets a links page. do it by hand and phone

content is king.

key worded domains work well too

Thought I was doing every SEO thing Right?

My website is MyRideisMe.com. Been around since 2007. The blog is Wordpress.

I've got a bunch of questions... I'll narrow it down to TWO:

I wrote a story about "Ford Falcon Shelby Drop"

The title in Wordpress is: Ford Falcon Shelby Drop How-To: Handle it!

In the "All in one SEO Pack" plugin, the meta title for Google Search is: Ford Falcon Shelby Drop How-To

Every picture has the file name: ...ford-falcon-shelby-drop....jpg

Then when I search in Google for "Falcon Shelby Drop" why am I on page 1 or 2 for this very specific search?

YET, in both cases, pictures for my website are #1 in Google image search. (of course that's no help since Google made changes to image search. I'm down 60% in image search referrals since then)

Effect of links from Youtube

We have loaded product videos on youtube for our e-shop (short videos showing product details) They are loaded through embed in our e-shop with specific product. With each video (in description part) there is a link for homepage shop inserted in this form http://domain.xx/.
Youtube automatically inserting "nofollow", but we can see those references for example through webmaster tools.

Is there a possibility to have negative effect to SEO, if there are lots of references comimg from youtube? We are talking about hundrets videos.

2 webistes affecting SEO value of each other?

Here is the scenario.

An attorney wants to transition from legal representation for divorces to divorce mediation services. He is looking at having a separate website for the divorce mediation services. He has his law practice website with FindLaw. Their sales rep told him that having this new site would hurt his existing webiste's SEO success and the new one would not get the same SEO juice like his existing site does.

If his attorney website now doesn't mention anything about him providing divorce mediation is the sales reps statement accurate? Please give a detailed explanation.

hello, am using joomla 2.5. i have a large list of urls that ends with print=1, i want to block them all with robot.txt. how can i can do that with a little code

Instant URL causing duplicate content

Hi,

My hosting provider has an instant URL pointing to my primary site and I have my own domain also. Eg. www.mysite.com and "s1***9.instanturl.net". Google is indexing both the URLs and showing both sites content in the search result.

I have blocked the sitelink of instantURL website in my primary site google webmaster account. Will this effect the sitelink of my primary site. How do I get the duplicate content issue getting created because of instanturl.
Please do the needful.

Problems with search results title...please help

Hello,

I have a problem with a page that is not displaying the content of the <title></title> tags in the search results.

When you visit the page in question ( http://www.forexchurch.com/compare-forex-brokers.cfm ), the title displays
perfectly, as does the description. However if you have a look at the search results by searching( site:www.forexchurch.com/compare-forex-brokers.cfm ),
the majority of the title is missing and is replaced by a number "1" . The page does contain paginated content on it, however I can't see how this
would be the cause for this issue.

I have tried using Google's Webmaster Tools to fetch the page and I have check the html that way and the code does in fact contain the correct <title> information,
so I just don't understand what is causing this issue. If anyone could shed some light on what the problem is and how it rectify it, I would be extremely grateful !

Your drop in PR is probably due to your shotgun approach to link building.

Just a quick look in MajesticSEO in the backlinks section shows that most of your top backlinks have no relevance whatsoever.

If you have been following the SEO news about Google's updates then you know that Penguin version 2 has hit and it targets non-relevant links and removes their influence on your PageRank. IF enough are found, it *can* hit you with a position penalty.

This being said, PR has little effect on search results as Google has switched to considering relevance of more importance than links.

This means your on-page content has assumed a much higher value and presentation has considerable effect.

Looking at your primary keyword phrase Tampa Florida Bankruptcy Attorneys you show as #17,

You need to adjust your content for better presentation, making it easier to find keywords.

There is a lot of on page SEO that can be done.

Converting HTML to Dynamic - SEO Advice?

Hi There,

I am a bit nervous about the prospect of converting a static HTML site to either a WordPress or Joomla site due to the fear of losing SERP position.

Currently the site in question is enjoying a #2 and #10 spot for 2 search terms. Both on page 1.

The site needs to be updated to allow for data base integration and also to finally go to a responsive format.

Does anyone have any feedback on their experiences with this transition and the best way to maintain the same positioning?

I have done this before but with mixed results.

Of course the 301 redirects will naturally be done, but what other steps might one take?

I have an educational website , I was ranked on first page of google for most of my targetted keywords in first half of may, After 23rd May update , my traffic dropped , I never did

Black hat seo
no spammy links
never purchased any link .

Followed all webmaster guidelines , Still I could have manged with this traffic drop , if sites better then my site are placed above me ,By better I mean

better in terms of content
in terms of on-site SEO
in terms of link buliding

Please write Computer Networking MCQ and check in google , on what basis google is listing sites .

am not able to understand, feeling really disappointing ,

same thing happened for all of my keywords.

A pretty exhaustive list here. Good work. The only thing I think I would add is that no matter what tools you have, the main thrust with SEO in 2013 has to be a combination of tools, developer code knowledge, competitor analysis and no little common sense. We prefer to be leaders rather than followers in SEO and Link Building and for this reason we use a variety of techniques and tools. Good post.

Metatags not working

In conclusion I was saying write articles that people would be interested in. Guess what Google wants the best articles products services etc on page one. So follow the rules.... i have 5 yr experience in SEO. i will help you. first make presence in search engine of your site. then you need to install google analytics and webmaster ..then verify it..

after that..keyword analysis, then u will do further on page activities.. Meta tag implementation...etc..

First things is first. Make sure Google analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, and Google Adwords are all active. If you have not make sure your site is submitted to Google for indexing. Also that a proper xml sitemap is submitted via Webmaster tools.

These days content is king. Try hosting high value news/industry articles that are unique and compliment your site. Additionally if you do not already have a blog/twitter/fb/etc./etc. these would be good channel's assuming you have time and energy to generate credible content.

Think of the HTML site map as a guide for users of your site. It is a way to discover your site from a top down approach. You may have very very few people use this but it is perceived both by users and Google as additional path(s) through your site. If you have the energy to create this it will not be a detriment.

My WordPress site has one XML sitemap listed under Google Webmaster, but I fairly sure at one point I also had a HTML sitemap as well. Would having a HTML sitemap, in addition to XML, be advantageous for SEO and SERPS purposes? I use the Yoast SEO plugin. New to this so would appreciate any advice please. My website in a UK home insurance brokers site.

My website last week rank all the keywords first and second pages. But today I checked ranks all are dropped to 10 to 12th pages. I checked the on page its fine. But I gave to Link building for my brother forums and social. Doing more link building is that issue for these days? How can I recover it? pls help

Help!!!! New universal google analytics code unable to verify at Google Webmaster Tools

Hello guys,
I have an e-commerce website on which i have installed universal google analytics code. It started tracking visitors but the problem is it failed to verify ownership with Webmaster tools. It says "The Google Analytics tracking code on your site looks malformed." However when i tried another method for verification (HTML file upload on root), it successfully completed verification. Note that i have not installed classic google analytics code on site. Is it compulsory to install classic one to verify ownership at Webmaster tools? Quick answer awaited..

I believe that the 'Google Hub' is just Michael's SEO Discussion Group inside Google Groups, nothing more. I wouldn't worry about that either.

PageRank really isn't the key in getting good rankings with Google. It also isn't updated as frequently anymore, and again, is such a small ranking factor.

PageRank might provide some authority down the line (length of time) to Google, but really what you should be focusing on is building a 'community' for your niche or market. Establishing yourself as an authority which provides great information, content, video and images, social sharing as well as complete social media integration. Somewhere people will want to come back to again, and again, talk about with friends and social networks, etc,

That really is your ultimate focus :)
