You might also want to open a Google Analytics account for you site

using these tools you will be able to see how your site is currently preforming in google and other search engines for keywords.

I am new to seo but willing to learn it all! Another webmaster told be
that one of the very first things I should do is to open a Free Google
Ranking Account. When I asked him what that is there was no reply. Can
anyone tell me what that is and where to find it? Thanks!
