this would have no real impact, since the text of the conent would be the same

BUT
- if you make changes to navigation or texte display techniques, eg
links known by fals or javascript only, or text known by flash or
javascript only, the you are going to dive down in your rankings,
since that would in fact remove indexed content
- same if the new template used frames
